  • Individual Therapy Treatment Drug Alcohol Rehab: - Each patient is allocated access to a counseling psychologist upon arrival. They are assessed and individual therapy sessions will be arranged. The psychologist works with the recovering person through a relationship of trust and respect. These sessions allow the individual to gain insight into the causes of their substance dependency and, more importantly, to implement the necessary changes in the underlying dynamics underpinning their addiction. Individual therapy, besides the personal attention that this provides, can also be very helpful in the case of a dual diagnosis: A coexisting depression, bipolar disorder, or other significant mental health condition that requires treatment in its own right, separate from the drug addiction or alcohol dependency.
  • Individual Counselling Drug Alcohol Rehab: - Individual Counselling for addiction has proven to be an effective way to battle addiction and maintain sobriety. Addiction is classified as "a" disease, however the disease of addiction can be brought on by many different reasons. While the consequences and effects of addiction are almost always the same, the reasons for turning to substance abuse in order to cope vary from case to case. Therefore there is no one particular treatment that is guaranteed to work on all addicts.
  • Psycho-Education Therapy Drug Alcohol Rehab: - Psycho-education combines principles of emotional psychology and cognitive behavioural counselling. This type of therapy focuses on issues of both the ego and lack of life skills. Incorporating developmental psychology and placing emphasis on the individual's uniqueness of their development and various factors which could have shaped their outcome. Teaches substance abusers essential life skills that can be used throughout the rehabilitation process helping them to avoid relapse and maintain a life of sobriety.
  • Group Therapy Treatment Drug Alcohol Rehab: - At Family Drug Abuse Rehabilitation Clinic during treatment, attention is given to the management of a substance use disorder, improvement of life- and relationship skills as well as the enhancement of self-knowledge. Drug abusers are assisted to replace using behaviour with socially acceptable behaviour. Parents/guardians are requested to attend sessions as arranged by the social worker. Our compassionate team of highly qualified, professional counsellors and therapists are here to offer each resident acustomised treatment program designed to address their specific needs. Group sessions are run on a daily basis focusing on interpersonal relationships and systemic processes. They allow each person to learn from the group, and to develop new interpersonal skills, not easily acquired when struggling with substance dependency. These not only facilitate recovery during the addiction treatment process but can help the individual integrate back into society once they have left the Centre. We have a holistic approach to alcohol and drug abuse treatment, addressing the client's mental, physical and spiritual needs. When more than one substance addiction is identified it is dealt with concurrently with the substance dependency. Our alcoholism and drug addiction treatment program includes the services of an experienced psychiatrist, medical doctor, drug counseling psychologist, nursing sister, drug addiction and alcohol dependency recovery counselor, social worker, dietician, and occupational therapist.

At Family Drug Abuse Rehabilitation Clinic our addiction counselors play an important role in our patients recovery process, they are trained and qualified to adapt to the individuals needs through the one on one session. Daily sessions are run with a recovery counsellor who focuses on the identification and effective handling of the social and internal triggers to their addictive behaviour. Many clients will not open up in group sessions but may be able to connect enough to trust the counsellor in a private, safe environment. We maintain that it is important that our patients feel that he or she is being heard and understood on a more personal level during individual sessions.

The counsellor can help a recovering addict focus and deal with the root cause of their addiction and teach them techniques on how to cope with the issues that caused them to turn to drugs in the first place and then how to cope with these issues going forward.

Our counselors make use of integrated approaches such as The Matrix, cognitive behaviour system theories, among others. Treating addiction with individual counselling has been proven to be an effective way to battle addiction and maintain sobriety for many recovering addicts and alcoholics.
